A Vancouver man suffered serious injuries Monday when he was hit by a car while crossing the street in Hazel Dell. Jesse Gellatly, 34, tried to cross Northeast 99th Street near Northeast Seventh Avenue after 6:40 p.m. and was not inside a crosswalk, Clark County Sheriff’s Sgt. Chad Rothenberger said. Seconds after stepping foot on the road, a car swerved to barely avoid Gellatly, Rothenberger said.
