A hydroplane racing in the 2014 APBA Detroit Gold Cup suffered a blow over accident Saturday while making a turn near the Belle Isle Bridge.

Organizers cancel return of Detroit Hydrofest boat races
The last time the Detroit Hydrofest took place was in 2019. Organizers cancelled the 2020 event due to the pandemic, and efforts to bring the event back in 2022 and 2023 failed.
