Volkswagen AG’s nightmare goes from bad to worse. Its shares fell by another 19% after the company took a 6.5 billion euro ($7.3 billion) charge to cover losses from its emissions cheating scandal, and said the final cost could be higher still. The admission appears to have piled fresh pressure on the company’s management, which is roundly suspected of complicity in deceiving regulators and consumers about the emissions produced by some of its diesel engines.
