While teaching documentary film classes at the University of Oklahoma in 2015, Beesley, 46, was looking for a new project to work on and knew he wanted it to be about football. Beesley was just unsure of who his subject would be. He dug into his personal history and thought of the perfect topic; a season with a high school football team in Oklahoma, documenting the highs and lows of the week-to-week battles and the relationship to the community. Beesley's father, Paul Beesley, was a high school coach in Oklahoma for years, spending time at Piedmont, Moore and Little Axe.
