BANGOR, Maine — The undefeated and third-seeded Waterville High School Purple Panthers survived a 4-for-28 shooting performance in the first half to upend scrappy 11th-seeded John Bapst High School Crusaders 44-35 Friday night at the Cross Insurance Center in their Class B North quarterfinal. Junior forward Sadie Garling had 16 points for the Panthers and Jada Murray had 12, all in the second half.
