Western Lawmakers Gather In Utah To Talk Federal Land Takeover

Dozens of lawmakers and policy leaders from eight western states gathered at the Utah Capitol Friday for a series of private conversations about a long-shot bid to take control of federal lands in their areas. The Legislative Summit on the Transfer of Public Lands, as it was called, was not publicized until mid-day Friday, when the Utah House sent out notice of a 4:30 p.m.
