US Army Any future war between the U.S. and China will likely become a space battle, and any space battle will focus on the destruction of each other's warfighting satellites that provide intelligence, communications, and GPS. The first salvos will be the least destructive, and the U.S. and China would use weapons like lasers and jammers to temporarily blind or disable — but things could escalate to true anti-satellite weapons. In such an event, the US would use systems like NASA's Raven, and China might use its proposed "Space Broom" or its AoLong 1 satellite before both sides turned to missiles.
