By Brandy McDonnellToday's featured event: Hear Rodrigo y Gabriela at 6:30 p.m. today at The Jones Assembly, 901 W Sheridan Ave. Five years since their last album, the Mexican acoustic rock guitar duo are embarking on the next chapter of their story, with the release of "Mettavolution," billed as the most ambitious music of their 20-year career together.Three years in the making, the duo vowed to go back to the heart of their music, to feel the same way they did when they first moved from Mexico City to Ireland back in 1999, searching to reconnect with the original intention and (in their own words) “the reason of why we do what we do, to share something we do with all our hearts in order to inspire, even to heal people through music.”Rodrigo Sanchez and Gabriela Quintero have been playing together since the mid-1990s when they were members of Mexican thrash-metal band Terra Acida.
