That approach reflects recognition of the political reality of a divided Congress that makes mandated standards difficult to push through, and a belief that an executive order President Obama signed in February could improve companies’ cybersecurity. Ex-Trump White House lawyer Ty Cobb details his prediction for the outcome of the historic Trump hush money criminal trial before the jury begins their deliberations.
“Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan, the top electoral target for a far-right faction of Republicans intent on controlling the Legislature, emerged victorious Tuesday over a well-funded challenger endorsed by Donald Trump and his allies,” the Texas Tribune reports.

“Jenna Ellis, who assisted Donald Trump after the 2020 election then pleaded guilty last year in the Georgia election subversion case, has had her law license suspended in Colorado,” CNN reports.

Jenna Ellis, a Colorado native and former lawyer for then-President Donald Trump in 2020, will not be allowed to practice law in Colorado for at least three years under an agreement approved Tuesday by the Colorado Supreme Court.
Ellis, who is from Longmont, had faced the possibility of total disbarment after pleading guilty in October to a felony in Georgia related to efforts to overturn Trump’s 2020 election loss there.

ROBERT DENIRO: That Donald Trump is just across the street because he doesn't belong in my city.
I don't know where he belongs, but he surely doesn't belong here.
There are two times people make really bad mistakes: When they’re over-confident and when they’re desperate. The Biden administration is not over-confident.
