MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Erratic throws rolled into the outfield, pitches skipped in the dirt, and fielders dropped balls and failed to cover bases. Things started out reasonably well when White Sox starter John Danks struck out the side in the first and stranded two runners in the second. The left-hander fell apart in the third, committing two throwing errors himself and giving up Trevor Plouffe's first major league grand slam. Ryan Pressly (1-0) pitched 2 2/3 innings of hitless relief. Starter Mike Pelfrey allowed five hits and two earned runs in 3 1/3 innings, hitting three batters and walking two. Plouffe then cleared the bases with his slam, a drive into the seats in left-center field for his second home run in two days. Danny Santana added a two-run single past LaRoche and Dozier had an RBI single to make it 7-0.
