The only accomplishment of the DPJ’s “people rather than concrete” orientation has been an increase in the consumption tax, all of which will be devoted to propping up a still structurally insolvent welfare state. At least the LDP/New Komeito are talking about building roads, bridges, and other “concrete” structures that will serve--rather than simply burden--future generations.
