Living in Winchester, Matt Sharp was inspired by the story of the fellow Winchester native Glen Doherty, the former U.S. Navy SEAL who lost his life in the Benghazi terror attack in Libya in 2012. So he read a few books on Benghazi, sought out stories of Doherty's missions, and made contact with the Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation.
