Paulding County sheriff's officials said a bicyclist spotted the badly injured woman, who had been beaten in her head and face, lying on the side of the trail around 6:42 p.m. Tuesday. Investigators believe she was taken into a wooded area along the trail and left there by her attacker, and later managed to pull herself out of the woods to be discovered by the passing bicyclist.
