Woolfolk Slams The Door As Ole Miss Completes Sweep Of No. 10 East Carolina

Sophomore right-hander Dallas Woolfolk struck out five of the six batters he faced Sunday – including three straight in a bases-loaded no-out jam in the eighth – and Ole Miss completed a sweep of No. 10 East Carolina with an 8-6 win before 9,459 fans at Swayze Field. The Rebels came from behind in each game, but Sunday was the first time they faced more than a two-run deficit. Ole Miss (3-0) was in good shape with an 8-6 lead before things got shaky in the eighth. Outfielders Kyle Watson and Ryan Olenek collided on a fly ball, and freshman reliever Greer Holston gave up a hit and a walk to load the bases with no outs. Ole Miss coach Mike Bianco then turned to Woolfolk as East Carolina turned to the top of its batting order. “They had the winning run on first base, and when he came in and just shoved it down their throat there was nothing they could do about it,” freshman first baseman Cole Zabowski said.
