World population hits 7 billion on Oct. 31, or thereabouts

Though it's impossible to say exactly when it will happen, demographers have chosen the date to mark the milestone. Humanity remains on a steep growth curve. It took only a dozen years for humanity to add another billion people to the planet, reaching the milestone of 7 billion Monday — give or take a few months.

Senh: That's kinda scary that it only took a dozen years to add another billion people to the planet. We better start colonizing the moon or figure out a way to live on the ocean.
