Wv Gov. Justice Signs Higher-ed Bill

By Jake Jarvis Gov. Jim Justice signed into law Tuesday afternoon his bill to reform higher education, giving more autonomy to the state's larger universities. Under the new law, which goes into effect in early July, West Virginia University, Marshall University and the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine are exempted from much of the Higher Education Policy Commission's oversight. "Our bigger schools need the freedom to continue to innovate and grow," Justice said in a statement.
