W.va. Bill Requires Lawmakers To Ok State Carbon Plan

The Associated Press CHARLESTON, W.Va. - A West Virginia Senate panel is considering requiring lawmakers to approve state plans to comply with proposed federal carbon emission standards for coal-fired power plants.Tuesday, a Senate committee will discuss the bill concerning how the coal-focused state will meet U.S. Environmental Protection Agency standards. A House version has passed one committee.The bill requires the GOP-led Legislature to vote before the state sends compliance plans to the EPA.
