‘big Milestone’: Sacramento Airport Sees Financial Picture Strengthen

After years of financial struggles, Sacramento International Airport officials say they see clearer skies ahead. A recent increase in passengers combined with an aggressive expense-cutting effort has executives saying the airport is starting to emerge from the financial hole it has been in since the county borrowed $1 billion to build a new terminal during the recession. The passenger uptick at Sacramento International is modest, but is being called “a big milestone.”
