If there is a rustling sound on the side of the house or someone walking into the backyard, don’t panic. Xcel Energy Colorado put its electric and gas meter readers back on the streets Monday after pulling them in mid-April over COVID-19 concerns. Most electric and gas meters in Xcel Energy’s territory are digital, but about one in five still require an in-person reading.
