By Rick Steelhammer As Yeager Airport surpassed the $1 million mark on Wednesday in covering expenses related to the March 12 collapse of a fill area off its main runway's safety overrun area, forensic engineers are expected to begin an on-site inspection of the slope failure this weekend in an effort to determine its cause.Meanwhile, Keystone Drive residents were being notified that they will soon be contacted by real estate appraisers provided by either the airport, the Kanawha County Commission or the Federal Aviation Administration to begin the process of filing claims for compensation ranging from damage repair funds to, if desired by homeowners, complete buyouts."We don't want to wait for these people to be taken care of," said Ed Hill, president of Yeager's board of directors, during the board's regular monthly meeting on Wednesday.
