At the beginning of Monday's post-Democratic convention Late Show, Stephen Colbert took a bite of a Philly cheesecake he pretended to have found on the street of Philadelphia, and then things got strange. Colbert, dressed in hippy-faux tribal-rainbow pants attire, popped up behind what appeared to be the cast of a Hair revival to sing a raga-trance song called "Death, Taxes, and Hillary." A sample: "It's a cheesesteak jamboree, where your mind can be set free / And this power girl will change the world, if her donors all agree." The costumes mix late '60s and early 1970s counterculture and disco, the music is highly reminiscent of the Beatles' Maharishi period, and the animation is Yellow Submarine mixed with your most psychedelic screen saver.
The Democratic Party tossed out leftover food after a welcome party for delegates at the Philadelphia Museum of Art Sunday, leaving at least one delegate fuming. “I was a hungry child. Went to bed hungry many a night,” Timothy Baumgardner, a Washington state delegate, told The Post. “I fed people from the garbage.” He said

But earlier in New York, de Blasio said it was “fantastic” that Bloomberg
(NEW DELHI) — Police in Bangladesh’s capital raided a five-story building Tuesday and killed nine suspected Islamic militants, the country’s police chief said.
Inspector General of Police A. K. M. Shahidul Hoque said the raid took place in Dhaka’s Kalyanpur area and one suspect was arrested and was being treated for injuries in a hospital.
Hoque said officials were investigating to see which group the men belonged to, but their clothing and other evidence showed it was likely that they belonged to local banned group Jumatul Mujahedeen Bangladesh, or JMB.
The group is blamed for a July 1 attack in Dhaka’s Gulshan diplomatic area, where 20 people, including Italians and Japanese, were killed when armed gunmen attacked a restaurant.
Hoque said the suspected militants were killed when police raided the building used as a den by the suspected Islamic militants.
He said the suspects attempted to flee the building by shooting their way out, but were stopped by police who cordoned off the area.
Explosive experts were searching the building, Hoque said.
“It will take a few hours to have a clear idea.
Day 1: Bernie Sanders delivered an unequivocal endorsement of Hillary Clinton in Philadelphia, sowing harmony in a party recently marked by discord. Party luminary senators Cory Booker, Elizabeth Warren and Al Franken also graced the stage, but it was Michelle Obama who was the highlight of the night, with a powerful, personal and emotional speech.
