Filed in federal court last week by Moriarty's attorney William Popjoy III, the suit alleges that DiBuonaventura — who is currently facing 14 criminal charges including official misconduct and falsifying a police report in connection with the stop — violated Moriarty's constitutional rights when he arrested Moriarty on July 31, 2012.
