NCAA president Mark Emmert spoke publicly for the first time Monday about Indiana’s new “religious freedom” law that has sparked controversy days before Indianapolis hosts the men’s Final Four.In an interview with ESPN, Emmert said he was “surprised and disappointed” about the passage of a law criticized by some as allowing businesses to discriminate based on sexual orientation.
