BNSF Railway Co. agreed to pay nearly $1 million to settle a lawsuit with the U.S. Attorney's Office after a derailed train caused damage to the Kootenai National Forest in Montana. The Fort Worth-based railroad will pay $200,000 to the U.S. government and spend another $750,000 to repair and maintain forest services roads located in the national forest, according to a release the U.S.
