A Boulder woman has accused Wyoming Secretary of State Ed Murray of sexually assaulting her when she was a teenager interning at a law firm in Cheyenne in the early 1980s. Tatiana Maxwell’s allegation against Murray comes amidst a wave of similar allegations women have lodged against powerful men across the United States since October when reports first surfaced of Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein’s alleged sexual assault and harassment of multiple women. The allegations against Weinstein have led to subsequent accusations against other powerful men in entertainment and politics and sparked the Me Too campaign where woman have shared stories of sexual harassment and abuse, mostly on social media. “This is an issue that is taking hold nationally,” Maxwell said when reached by phone on Saturday afternoon.
