Group identity trumps just about everything else. We as human beings listen to and stick with our people, and today, it’s easier than ever before to find them. While the internet has enabled unprecedented connection, it’s also encouraged silos of like-mindedness and social isolation. Understandably, much of the current national dialogue about group identity addresses those problems and others it creates, such as the current political climate, which is mind-numbingly polarized.
