LEADING THE DAY: Stopping the clock on a second AT&T deal, the Federal Communications Commission decided late Monday to combine its review of the company’s proposed dealings with T-Mobile and Qualcomm. In a letter issued by the Wireless Communications Bureau, the agency stopped the 180-day shot clock on a spectrum proposal between AT&T and Qualcomm, Politico reported. Saying that the two deals raise several related issues, bureau chief Rick Kaplan wrote that the agency has “concluded that the best way to determine whether either or both of the proposed transactions serve the public interest is to consider them in a coordinated manner at this time, without prejudice to independent treatment at a later date.” Read full article >>
