PITTSFIELD — A Massachusetts man is facing a murder charge in the death last week of his estranged girlfriend.The Berkshire district attorney's office says 32-year-old Michael Boulais, of Hinsdale, is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Central Berkshire District Court.He is charged in the death of 24-year-old Kassedi Clark, who was found dead of multiple gunshot wounds inside a vehicle on Boulais' property on Friday morning. An autopsy determined that the death was a homicide.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Authorities have identified a woman who died when she crashed her vehicle into a moving train in Springfield.The Springfield Republican reports that Kenisha Forbes died early Saturday after her SUV collided with the rear section of a train.Rescue crews used the Jaws of Life to free the Springfield woman from her vehicle, but she died at a hospital.The crash is still being investigated.

Police are crediting the work of their K-9 partner Vader in a breaking-and-entering arrest yesterday afternoon in Boston.The suspect, Sam Hess, 28, of Boston was last seen climbing onto a fire escape and entering a Boylston Street building through a second floor window yesterday morning, police said.A Boston police K-9 handler and Vader entered the building and located Hess hiding inside a crawl space under a first floor stairwell, cops said.

It’s my first marathon, ever. I’ve been running for about four years, and have always wanted to run a marathon. I never really thought I’d be able to, because I’m certainly not a natural runner.

I’ve been running for 13 years, and I have run half-marathons — that’s the longest distance I had ever run. Last year I went to watch the Boston Marathon for the very first time. I was inspired by the marathon itself, and decided that I was hopefully, one day, going to run a marathon. And if I was going to run one, I was going to run Boston.

I’ve done seven marathons before, but this is my first Boston. It was very important for me to run Boston, because the Boston Marathon was pretty much the reason I wanted to run a marathon in the first place.I live on Beacon Street, and part of that is living on the marathon trail. You see people running all the time. You have to look left and right when you come out the front door so you don’t get run down by a pack of runners.

Five years ago, my boyfriend at the time — now my husband — and I were pretty close to the marathon bombings. Shortly thereafter, I started volunteering with the Boston Police Foundation. We heard they had just two Boston Marathon bibs, and I talked to my husband, I said I think we should throw our hats in the ring.We found out Thanksgiving weekend, and I had that moment of, do we really want to do this? But then we realized how excited we really were. People dream about doing this.

I actually went to school at (Boston College), on the top of the hill, so I think just seeing it every year made me want to do it — even though people going up Heartbreak Hill didn’t look too great. It was something that I had in mind for a while. I’m doing it for a charity that helped me prepare for and get into college, Bottom Line.
