Checks will soon be arriving in the mailboxes of Coloradans impacted by two legal financing firms officials allege were practicing predatory lending in the state. The repayments, announced by the Colorado Attorney General’s Office Monday, bring to a close years-long legal battle and resulted in a more than $2.3 million legal settlement with the state. Oasis Legal Finance LLC and Plaintiff Funding Holding Inc., which does business as LawCash, reached a repayment agreement with the state in August 2016 over interest rates they charged on financing.
