Just weeks after Universal Pictures announced it had acquired the rights to all of Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles novels, the studio is reportedly in early negotiations with The Fault in Our Stars filmmaker Josh Boone to write and direct the adaptation. While a studio spokesperson has issued a statement saying that The Wrap's story is "completely untrue," the website is standing behind their story.Our report from earlier this month revealed that Anne Rice's son, Christopher Rice, is writing the screenplay adaptation, but it seems that Josh Boone will now handle both the writing and directing duties.
