CBS has bought a crime drama from one of the genre's literary experts, bestselling author Patricia Cornwell. Cornwell will write the untitled project, which focuses on Angie Steele, a brilliant, unorthodox detective who works for San Diego's Major Crimes Unit where demons from her past come back to haunt her.
