'The Conjuring 2' Pushed Back to 2016

After The Conjuring grossed over $300 million worldwide on a $20 million dollar budget, a sequel was inevitable.New Line Cinema originally planned to release The Conjuring 2 in October of 2015, but has now announced that it will be pushed back. The studio has chosen to put an unnamed horror film in theatres on October, 23 2015, so your Halloween horror thirst won't go completely unquenched next year.New Line didn't give a reason for the delay, but I'm guessing not yet having a director for the film probably plays into it a bit.James Wan directed the first Conjuring, but has decided to put horror films aside for Oscar bait pictures like Fast & Furious 7.The first film is "set in Rhode Island in 1971, the story is based on the work of real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren — portrayed by Wilson and Farmiga.
