Hello Kitty, the ubiquitous Japanese cartoon character emblazoned on everything from T-shirts and tutus to handbags and bedspreads, will soon hit the skies over Houston. Taiwanese carrier EVA Air next summer will launch nonstop service between Taipei and Bush Intercontinental Airport with a jetliner painted with the iconic Kitty White, the little gijinka cat girl with a red bow and no visible mouth, and other colorful characters from licensing firm Sanrio. On that aircraft, the Hello Kitty characters are featured on the exterior holding hands and inside on such cabin equipment as seat backs and food trays. Other carriers that have co-branded their planes include Alaska Airlines, with such popular Disney characters as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Donald Duck; Japan's All Nippon Airways, with the Pokémon franchise; Air New Zealand, with a "Hobbit" theme celebrating the J.R.R.
