State's denial of request could close Dayton abortion clinic

A clinic in Dayton might be unable to perform abortions after the Ohio Department of Health denied its variance request today, which had been pending for more than a year. Abortion clinics are required by Ohio law to have a written patient-transfer agreement with a local, private hospital. If they’re unable to find a private hospital willing to work with them, they have to request a variance to the agreement with the ODH.
