I know people love to hate him, and I agree he has put out some real stinkers, including what I believe to be the worst movie I've ever seen: 2008's "The Happening". Having said all that, I think "The Village" is a supremely engaging, thought provoking and original concept. It's well acted and the story keeps you intrigued throughout.
