5 numbers that explain the Indiana results

Indiana Republicans delivered a death blow to Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign, with a majority of voters enthusiastically embracing Donald Trump and rebuking the GOP establishment.In the Democratic primary, Bernie Sanders was carried to a narrow victory over Hillary Clinton by a coalition of young and white voters.Here are five numbers from Tuesday night’s election returns and exit polls that explain how Trump virtually clinched the GOP nomination, and Sanders sustained his otherwise flagging campaign:Indiana Republicans didn’t just jump on what Trump referred to Tuesday night as “the Trump Train” – they also rejected Cruz.Only 12 percent of primary voters said they would be excited at the prospect of a Cruz presidency.
