Oklahoma revenue report reaches new low

GREEN Capitol Bureau rmgreen@oklahoman.comTax collections from Oklahoma's dominant oil and gas sector have reached a 17-year low, according to a monthly reported released by the state treasurer Friday. The $20.8 million gross production tax collection for April is the lowest monthly total since May 1999. State Treasurer Ken Miller said all of the overall revenue growth the state experienced following the recovery from the Great Recession of 2007 has been erased. "As measured by Gross Receipts to the Treasury, the gains received during the expansion following the Great Recession have been returned,” Miller said.Read more on NewsOK.com
