It may only be Monday, but there’s already a reason to raise a glass (or two) this week. On Dec. 5, 1933, Prohibition was repealed, marking a return to fermentation and distillation. The day is celebrated in Denver bars and restaurants with parties, drink specials and even 1930s-style costume contests. Three cheers to another Repeal Day! Green Russell The subterranean speakeasy on Larimer Street recalls the Prohibition Era with its dimly lit bar behind unsuspecting doors — oh, and plenty of spirits to choose from.
