Jenny Sparks, Loveland Reporter-HeraldBrutus walks with his prosthetic paws along side of his owner, Laura Aquilina, on Thursday, April 2, 2015, in their Loveland neighborhood. The pair is featured in a documentary, “Forever Faithful,” that will debut at the Mayan Theater in Denver on June 7 and will soon be available on DVD and streaming services. One of the themes of Angie Ruiz’ new documentary, “Forever Faithful,” is resilience — a trait she said Loveland dog, Brutus, displays in spades after losing all four paws to frostbite and learning to run and play on prosthetics. The story of Brutus and his family, residents Laura Aquilina and Rick Jaruzel, is one of five featured in the film that explores the bonds between dogs and people, brings attention to important advances in the field of canine cancer and highlights extraordinary veterinary treatments.
