Former Morrison police officer accused of stealing more than $130,000 over 6 years

Jefferson County Sheriff's OfficeAnthony Paul Joiner The former second in command at the Morrison Police Department has been indicted on criminal charges by a Jefferson County grand jury. Anthony Paul Joiner, 38, is accused of stealing more than $132,000 from the town between December 2010 and February 2016, according to a district attorney’s news release. The grand jury returned a 29-count indictment against the former lieutenant, including charges of theft, attempt to influence a public servant, embezzlement and forgery. Joiner’s responsibilities with the department included making bank deposits, assigning extra duty contracts and arranging cellphone contracts for the town’s employees, according to the release.
