Fallin, GOP pressure House Dems with plan of their own

Mary Fallin and Republican leadership have endorsed a revenue package that would prevent cuts to Oklahoma's major health care agencies and boost teacher salaries, but the proposal would need Democratic support to pass the Oklahoma House. The plan did not include raising the tax rate on oil and gas production, or a higher income tax rate for some earners, two things Democrats want in special session. Flanked by legislative leaders of her own party, Fallin said the plan would implement a $1.50 per-pack cigarette tax and raise the motor fuel tax by 6 cents per gallon.Read more on NewsOK.com
