Sunday’s rain and light hail forced the crowd milling about the annual Denver Cherry Blossom Festival downtown to seek cover. Many scurried into the Denver Buddhist Temple on Lawrence and 20th streets. Once inside, the slightly damp festival goers examined bonsai trees on display, some meandering over to the join the seated crowd listening to two members of the Denver Bonsai Club explain the art. “It’s like meditation almost,” Gary Matsuda said after the demonstration.
