Popeyes who? A new Denver restaurant serves up seven different fried chicken sandwiches.

Fried chicken alert: You can now add Chicken Rebel’s to your list of dredged bird sandwiches to try around Denver. The food truck and former Avanti stall has opened its brick-and-mortar restaurant on Tejon Street in Lower Highland, next door to Mythology Distillery. At Chicken Rebel, owner Lydie Lovett serves her fried chicken as well as breakfast chicken, vegan “chicken,” hot chicken and more sandwiches ($11-$12) alongside five types of loaded tater tots ($6.50-$8).
