Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) suggested that the Jim Crow era had some virtues for Black people while trying to persuade voters of color to back Donald Trump, the New York Times reports.
Said Donalds: “You see, during Jim Crow, the Black family was together. During Jim Crow, more Black people were not just conservative — because Black people have always been conservative-minded — but more Black people voted conservatively.”
“For nearly four years, Republicans have delved into the darkest corners of Hunter Biden’s life, seeking to tie his troubles to his father, President Biden. But as the younger Biden stands trial in Delaware on gun charges, the case’s glaring political contradictions have rendered the G. O. “Donald Trump will attend a private meeting with one of the most powerful business lobbying groups in Washington as he tries to craft an alliance with major corporate leaders,” NBC News reports.
“Though President Joe Biden was invited, he cannot attend due to overseas travel for a G7 meeting.”
A new Quinnipiac poll in Georgia finds Donald Trump leads Joe Biden in the presidential race, 49% to 44%.
In a six-way hypothetical race that includes other candidates, Trump leads with 43%, Biden receives 37%, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. receives 8%, Libertarian Party candidate Chase Oliver receives 3%, Cornel West receives 3%, and Green Party candidate Jill Stein receives 2%.
Also interesting: When voters were asked how the guilty verdict impacts their vote for Trump, 22% say it makes them less likely to vote for him, while 23% say it makes them more likely to vote for him, and 54% say it doesn’t make a difference to their vote.
