Handicapped man escapes Radnor fire Friday

RADNOR>> A handicapped man has escaped a fire that raced through his Garrett Hill home Friday morning. Bryn Mawr and Radnor fire companies were alerted to the blaze on the 100 block of Summit Terrace at 7:43 a.m. for the report of a person trapped."Flames were rolling out the front windows," said Tim McGee, a neighbor who saw the scene unfold.

Man arrested for selling drugs to kids as young as 13 through Snapchat in Radnor

RADNOR >> Police in Radnor are warning parents about a new trend after police say they've arrested an adult for allegedly using Snapchat to sell drugs to children as young as 13. Late Thursday afternoon, police arrested Nathan Twedt, 21, of Rosemont, in connection with the case. Although the final charges on Twedt were still being worked out as of late Thursday, he was expected to be arraigned on various drug charges.

Report: No injures as 2-alarm fire burns through Darby house

According to reports, a 2-alarm fire broke out on the 400 block of Franklin Street in Darby just before 1 a.m. Thursday.There are no injuries. The fire is still being investigated.

100 Years Ago - 1918: With $2,644.90 collected in fines for the month of July in Chester police court, all records were passed. This amount is $492.85 greater than all the fines and cost collected in the 12 months of 1915, the year prior to Mayor McDowell taking office. It proves that while Chester has grown immensely and its police department as now constituted is fully able to cope with conditions, many very undesirables have found their way to work or hang around the vast war working plants in the city and vicinity.
