SIN NO MOREThere appears to be no greater group of hypocrites than the evangelical Christians. They believe that homosexuality and abortion are sins and are willing to vote for child and adult sexual abusers who they think will support laws that favor their social agenda. Talk about selling your soul to the devil.

 

Community Briefs: Azadi Celebration coming to Upper Darby

An Azadi Celebration will be held Nov. 26, starting at 4.30 p.m. at St. John's Indian Orthodox Church, 4400 State Road, Drexel Hill. This celebration of the freedom struggle in Bangladesh, India and Pakistan against British colonialism will include classical dance performances, folk music from both India and African America, and poetry in languages including English, Hindi, Urdu, Bangla and Punjabi.

 

Players Club of Swarthmore goes under the sea with 'The Little Mermaid'

Just in time for the holidays, The Players Club of Swarthmore makes a splash with the Disney family musical The Little Mermaid Nov. 24-Dec. 9, for 12 performances at 614 Fairview Ave. in Swarthmore.Ryan Stone directs, with choreography by Maria Byers and Emily Fishman, and musical direction by Kevin Gane.

 

Dancers and actors bring "The Nutcracker" to three local stages

Pages to Pirouettes presents its unique production of "The Nutcracker" in three public performances this season. Celebrating the arts of storytelling and ballet, Pages to Pirouettes brings its charming versions of the great ballets to community audiences. An actor first reads the story, then the audience sees it come to life through dance, music, and costume.

Jason was a Navy veteran whose life was tragically cut short in a 2013 Chester Rite Aid murder.

Meehan, Costello back GOP tax overhaul plan

The region's two moderate Republican congressmen sound like they both plan to back the Republican tax reform when it comes to a floor vote, which is expected today.Rep. Ryan Costello, R-6, of West Goshen said he is voting in favor. Rep. Pat Meehan, R-7, of Chadds Ford, while not specifically declaring himself a yes vote, said the measure will help his constituents.
