Charlotte Ann Neeley

KINGSPORT - Charlotte Ann Neeley, 70, Kingsport, TN passed away, Thursday, August 8, 2019 at the Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 12, 2019 at the Roberts Cemetery, in the Goode Hollow area of Clinchport, VA. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and Friends are asked to meet 9:15a.m, Monday, August 12, 2019 at the funeral home to go in procession to the graveside service.

Blanche Knowles, age 83, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2019.
Family will receive friends Sunday, August 11, 2019 from 1-3pm at Christian-Sells Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 3pm with Rev. Lee Knowles, Rev. Andy Sensabaugh, and Rev. Billy Ray Carmack officiating. Burial to follow at Hawkins County Memorial Gardens.

FT. BLACKMORE, VA - Bonnie Hillman Salling, 78, Ft. Blackmore, VA passed away, Friday, August 9, 2019 at her residence.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00p.m., Sunday, August 11, 2019 at the Wood Riverview Baptist Church with Dr. Todd Cassell and Pastor Earnest Mitchell officiating. The Quillen Family and Buford Salling will provide the music.
Burial will follow the service at the Salling-Grizzle Cemetery, Ft. Blackmore, VA. Jeremy Hall, Steven Keller, Mark Barnette, Scotty Hill, David Mann, Larry Cruby and Sammy Cruby will serve as pallbearers.

 

Dr. Joseph A. Solomon

KINGSPORT - This man, Dr. J.A. Solomon, Dr. Joe, Joseph, Daddy, Papa (Such a man…a godly man! A man after God’s very own heart) is absent from the body and present with the LORD at the age of 97.
From the time he dedicated his life to God at the age of 16 he wanted nothing more than to become a preacher, but God convicted his heart he was meant to serve Him as a doctor and he obeyed. After graduating from University of Richmond, VA in 1943, he went to medical school at Medical College of Virginia and completed residencies in pathology, surgery and obstetrics.

Visitation hours will be 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M., Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville.
Funeral service will be conducted 3:00 P.M., Sunday, August 11, 2019 in the funeral home chapel with Dr. J. Gregory Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.

Charles Vernon Woods

Charles “Vernon” Woods, 84, passed away after a brief illness, August 9, 2019.
Vernon was the son of Archie and Bonnie Woods, mayor and wife of Norton, VA. He graduated from John I Burton High School in 1953, then from Roanoke Business College, followed by an enlistment in the US Navy during which time he was aboard the aircraft carrier “USS Valley Forge.” He began his career in the insurance business, eventually rising to President of Wise Insurance Agency. Later, Vernon became a licensed Nursing Home Administrator.

Mary Lynn “Mimi” Ball 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Holston Manor Nursing Home in Kingsport, TN.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 17, 2019 from 11:00-1:00 at the Trinity Church of the Brethren, 1543 State Hwy 75 Blountville, TN 37617 with a Celebration of Life to follow at 1:00.

Bud Hunnicutt

FT. BLACKMORE, VA - Calvin “Bud” Hunnicutt, 87, Ft. Blackmore, VA passed away, Friday, August 9, 2019 at his residence.
Bud was born on February 29, 1932 in Knoxville, TN, and was the son of the late Claude Calvin and Margaret Aline (Patrick) Hunnicutt.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and was the former owner of Bud’s Gun and Pawn, Weber City, VA.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Kathryn (Bump). Hunnicutt; sister, Margaret Jones, and brother, Jack Hunnicutt preceded him in death.
Bud is survived by his daughters, Susan Hunnicutt, Ft.
