Culver Proposes 6.5% Cut For 2010 State Budget

If Gov. Chet Culver gets his way, almost all state programs aside from public safety, human services and a few other areas will see their spending cut by 6.5 percent next budget year. It’s up to state lawmakers to carve out the new budget, and neither Democratic nor Republican lawmakers signed on to all of Culver’s ideas Monday night.
