Damon Lindelof’s Watchmen receives series order at HBO After receiving a pilot order in 2017, Damon Lindelof’s Watchmen project has been given a series order at HBO, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed. The series, referred to by Lindelof as a remix of the original story, is expected to premiere in 2019. Set in an alternate history where “superheroes” are treated as outlaws, Watchmen embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel while attempting to break new ground of its own. Originally published as a 12-issue miniseries beginning in 1986, Watchmen quickly become one of sequential art’s most acclaimed stories.
