Downed Wires Suspend Dc-philly Amtrak Service

WASHINGTON (AP) — Downed wires have suspended Amtrak service between Washington and Philadelphia, and are affecting riders of Maryland Area Regional Commuter trains. Amtrak says in a statement that its Amtrak Acela Express and Northeast Regional Service between Washington and Philadelphia are down because of the wires. The company says engineers are working to fix the problem as quickly and safely as possible but there's no estimate for service restoration. On its website, MARC says there's no service at its Perryville and Aberdeen stations. MARC says commuters can use the Edgewood and Martins Airport stations, which are operating on a normal schedule. Spokespeople at MARC and Amtrak did not immediately return calls for comment early Tuesday morning.Read more on NewsOK.com
